Welcome to Dalhousie Community Preschool!

Dalhousie Preschool is Preschool that operates under the umbrella of the Dalhousie Community Association. It offers a warm and accepting environment for your child to begin his or her school career. Dedicated and experienced teachers and assistants recognize each child as an individual and make him or her feel worthwhile. Our Reggio Emilia inspired, play based program has been serving the community for over 30 years!

All staff are certified teachers or child care providers who are certified in first aid. We have access to the large auditorium/gym at the Dalhousie Community Centre where we play games and use a variety of gym equipment every class.

We have ongoing registration for the 2022-2023 school year, space is limited. If you are interested in our programs, please contact us for availability.  

The Preschool will be receiving a new Affordability Grant directly from the Government irrespective of family income. This grant came into effect January 2022 as part of the Federal-Provincial child care agreement that will support the expansion of accessible, affordable and high-quality child care that gives families the choice they need.

These funds will be paid directly to the Preschool, which in turn will reduce tuition rates for families. Our Preschool program will receive a flat rate of $75/month/child. Therefore MWF fees will now be $125/month and Tu/Th will be $85/month.

In addition, parents with a family income under $180,000 a year will also benefit from subsidies to further reduce child care fees (Preschools qualify for a flat rate of $125/month, all income brackets)

Dalhousie Community Kindergarten is a program dedicated to providing an exceptional experience to its students. It features an enriched program, offering skating, swimming, music lessons and many more learning adventures while recognizing the importance of strong literacy, science and math skills.
